During a group ceremony, I saw generations of women being silenced and diminished, perhaps my ancestors perhaps just visions, and I realized I’d absorbed those beliefs from my mother. I’d been living with this shame for years that I didn’t truly deserve unconditional love. I saw where it came from and how it had been passed down and saw through these beliefs. I was actually in a relationship at the time that I couldn’t see clearly, and this work woke me up. I’ve since had many more experiences, but this first one will always stay with me because it was just so powerful and really altered the course of my life.
